Wednesday...I am upstairs in my sewing room and I hear a thunk....downstairs I go....and....there in the porch...a box! YES!! It's HERE. only 2 day delivery! (glad I didn't pay the extra $5). I tell myself...you will read the book and THEN check out the cd. All day long, I sit in the living room with my cup of tea and read of the women of yesterday and their hopes for their daughters. I marvel at how far we have come and how we have stayed the same. and the blocks..oh the blocks..some I recognise.
Tomorrow I will have a look at the cd.
Today I made a decision to share all my trials and tribulations of making this quilt on a blog. I will share what tips I can and what products I use and I hope you find it helpful.
I will also share some of my life with you...

the farmers wife
Tuesday...I am disappointed I had to order the book and cd. I could have gone to the next town and see if they had it in stock, but I will wait. I picked up the book "the help" and I will read that. I could have paid $5.00 extra for early delivery, but what if the book store is out of stock?. I will finish a wall hanging that I started a while ago and finish binding my granddaughters quilt....I check the mailbox hourly..

"The Farmer's wife" the beginning
There are a few blogs already about the sampler quilt "The Framer's Wife..the book by Laurie Aaron Hird . "The Farmers Wife"..It's a collection of letters from women on the farm in the 1920's stating whether or not they want their daughters to marry a farmer.
I wonder...did they ask if sons wanted to marry a farm girl?... and 111quilt blocks that they inspired, anyway...quilt blocks accompany the letters and a quilt is featured..
A friend made hers and I saw a pic and was inspired....I thought , I will get the book and the CD (Electric Quilt) and get started. It's Monday morning so off I went to my local quilt store AND..... IT WAS CLOSED!! for the week..so I went to Chapters and ordered them both..they said it could take 6 weeks....now I wait with bated breath..
